Research & Evaluation

This document is intended to help technology staff consider the research and evaluation needs when developing a program's management information system. It first walks through the major pieces of an evaluation to help non-researchers understand the goals of an evaluation. Then it highlights an evaluator's "Ten Commandments" for management information system technology. Also, it provides a detailed list of specific data elements that research may need. (NOTE - this document was prepared for a presentation to a group of adult drug courts; the examples are purely suggestions based on the authors' experiences.)
